The pool is deep and getting deeper
Pakistan produces a large annual cohort of CS and engineering graduates, on top of a fast-growing self-taught and bootcamp population. English is a working language in tech, which removes the single biggest friction in remote hiring.
Where the demand is
From our sourcing pipeline, demand concentrates in a handful of stacks. AI/ML is the fastest-growing request from founders, followed by full-stack and backend.
Salaries are rising, but the gap holds
Rates have climbed with global demand, especially for AI talent. Even so, an all-in managed senior hire runs roughly a third of a comparable US salary — the gap is structural, not a temporary arbitrage.
Retention is a quiet advantage
Because the market isn't in the same poaching frenzy as some larger hubs, well-managed teams see lower attrition. Retention is mostly a management problem — fair USD pay, ownership, and a present manager keep people.
What it means for founders
2026 is a strong year to build in Pakistan: a deepening pool, AI-native talent, and a durable cost advantage. The winning move is owning the risky parts — vetting and management — rather than posting on a job board and hoping.
